Do what you love, love what you do

Life threw me a huge curve ball over the summer. When you're going through a process, it's always hard to see the light at the end of the tunnel. Although the light isn't here yet, I can feel that it's coming closer. One of the reasons for this is my work, or better said: my students.

An eye for an eye...

July 17^th 2014 has turned into a dark page of history for me, many loved ones of the victims of flight MH17, my country and the entire world. Mixed emotions of sadness, grieve, unbelief and anger has crossed our thoughts throughout these last couple of days. There are no words for this tragedy and I cannot imagine that I will ever understand what has happened. As I am struggling with my own emotions, there is something that I want to get off of my mind: war is NEVER the answer! 

Bye bye twenties…

The last day of my twenties has arrived. Looking back on the three decades that I have been on this planet so far, has made me realise that I have so much to be thankful for.

Blessed beyond measure

I haven't posted anything for a long time, because I've gathered my thoughts in my personal journal these last couple of months. However, this is a thought that I would really like to share with whomever it may concern.

I have posted a blog about my great colleagues once, now I would really like to let you know how amazing my students are. Every workday is a blessing, as I never know what to expect from them. They keep on surprising me with the things that they do. For me, teaching is so much more than transferring my English language knowledge on to them. It is about being a part of their transition from being an adolescent to becoming a young adult.

Home is where the heart is

It has been three months since my last blog post… No, it's no confession, it's me taking the time to get something off of my chest. The last three months have been like a rollercoaster ride with high peaks and some low falls. The true essence of these previous 90 days is what I've mentioned in my blogs before: time is of value and we should treasure it always.
